Mohamed Abdi Aynab
His journey

Words rooted in experience

For many years, Mohamed Abdi Aynab has dedicated himself to sharing the history, culture and experiences of the Somali people.

His writing examines resilience, forgiveness, national identity, faith, culture and state-building. It faces both the achievements and challenges of Somali society, drawing lessons from the past that may help build a wiser future.

His memoir CIIL Iyo Cafis grows from lived experience. Recounting imprisonment during the era of President Mohamed Siad Barre, it asks difficult questions about justice, suffering and what it means to forgive without forgetting.
